Italian Orange Cake

Italian Orange Cake is a soft and moist cake made with a whole orange!

Italian Orange Cake, known also as Sicilian Whole Orange Cake, is a simple Italian cake assembled in the blender. The most amazing citrus flavor and light and airy crumb!

You'll need flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs, vanilla, salt, canola oil, and a thin-skinned orange like Valencia.

In a blender combine the sugar, oil, vanilla, egg, and diced whole orange. Blend until puréed.

Then, add in the flour, baking powder and salt. Continue blending until the orange cake batter is well combined.

Pour the cake mixture into a greased 9-inch springform pan. Bake for about 45 minutes.

Let the Italian Orange Cake cool completely on  a wire cooling rack before serving.

Dust the top of the cooled cake with powdered sugar and garnish with orange slices.
