Italian Fig Cookies

Cuccidati are the classic Italian Christmas cookies. These traditional Sicilian fig cookies are a chewy and flavorful treat that's great for the holidays!

The filling is a combination of dried figs, almonds, raisins, walnuts, orange zest, honey, liqueur & spices.

Blend all of the Italian fig cookies ingredients together in a food processor.

The dough is also made in the food processor. Just combine flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, butter and eggs.

Roll the dough into a rectangular shape cutting off excess dough. Add in a log shape of the fig filling.

Roll the fig filling around the pastry dough and cut into 1-inch pieces and bake.

Once the cookies have cooked and cooled, dip the tops in a simple glaze and sprinkles.
